Thank you all for your excitement over the new Oliver + S patterns! I'm absolutely thrilled that you're enjoying them so much, and I can't wait to see what beautiful creations you come up with using these designs. Rachel's roundup of the Butterfly pattern earlier today showcased an impressive array of blouse and skirt variations. Many of you are already hard at work picking out fabrics and sewing your own versions, and I can't wait to see the final results!
I know that many of you love a good sew-along, whether it's for the sense of community or because you find the accompanying photos helpful. Or maybe it's both! We thought it would be great to host sew-alongs for the new patterns. Instead of doing them here on the blog, we decided to host them on our discussion forum this time around. That way, they'll be available as long-term references and will be easier to locate. Plus, with so many other exciting things planned for the blog, we want to keep you engaged in multiple spaces!
Considering that, here's a preliminary schedule for the upcoming sew-alongs:
---
**Parachute Sweatpants:** May 4-8 (next week!). I'll demonstrate how to add pockets to the sweatpants, and you can apply the same technique to the Butterfly Skirt. It's a super simple tutorial that will inspire you to think differently about adding pockets to your projects.
**Butterfly Blouse:** May 18-22. This top is incredibly straightforward but offers plenty of opportunities for embellishment and customization. We're going to have a blast exploring all the possibilities!
**Parachute Polo:** June 1-5. Some of you might feel intimidated by the placket or collar, but don't worry—we'll guide you step-by-step through the process.
**Butterfly Skirt:** June 15-19. As the simplest pattern in the collection, it's perfect for beginners. You can use the Parachute Sweatpants pocket tutorial or discover other creative ways to personalize it.
This schedule gives us a week between each sew-along, which should give everyone enough time to catch up if needed. Who's excited? I know I am!

By the way, if you're interested in diving deeper into fabric selection or need tips for sewing with specific materials, feel free to share your questions on the forum. We're always here to help!
Let me know what you think about the schedule, and let's make these sew-alongs a success together. Happy sewing!
